Video_WinterSteamConway Scenic Railroad operated a special winter excursion to Sawyer’s River in January of 2008, a passenger excursion train powered by steam locomotive #7470.  This was the first time that steam had operated this far West on the Mountain Division Line in the winter since 1953.  Dubbed, “Steam in the Snow,” this began a tradition of operating a special in winter.  “Winter Steam” is a compilation of our steam powered passenger excursion in 2009, which ran all the way to Notchland, the operation of a special freight train charter, snow plowing for these events, and an inside look at CSRR’s winter operations.
