Conway Scenic Hiker’s Ticket is a layover travel option offered on days when both the Morning and Afternoon Mountaineer excursions are scheduled between North Conway and Crawford. This special ticket allows a passenger to travel to Crawford on the Morning Mountaineer train, enjoy approximately a 4 1/2 hour layover at Crawford, then return from Crawford on the afternoon train that boards at the Crawford station at 3:15 pm.
Hikers may enjoy a variety of scenic treks on trails maintained by the Appalachian Mountain Club. Temperatures and weather conditions at higher elevations can be greatly variable. Owing to the longer layover and limited places to shelter at Crawford Notch it is strongly advised that guests dress appropriately and come prepared for an extended period outdoors. It its the responsibility of the individual passenger to arrive back at Crawford station in time to board the return train to North Conway. Passengers are responsible for boarding trains promptly. Trains cannot be held for late passengers.
