Since Thomas the Tank Engine left the depot more than 65 years ago, this Really Useful Engine and his Island of Sodor friends have chugged their way into the hearts of preschoolers and grownups worldwide. Based on The Railway Series of classic stories authored by a father who loved trains and wanted a shared experience with his son, Thomas & Friends™ is a rite of passage that inspires the imagination while teaching the life lessons of friendship, exploration and cooperation.

Thomas the Tank Engine has traveled all the way from the Island of Sodor and has arrived Right on Time to take a ride with you and your family.
Yes, Sir Topham Hatt will take time away from his busy schedule as Controller of the Railway on the Island of Sodor to meet and take pictures with guests.
Due to the popularity of Day Out With Thomas, advance ticket purchase is highly recommended, especially if you want a departure at a specific time of day. Morning trains typically sell out. When purchasing tickets you will be asked to select a specific date and time for your ride with Thomas. Your ticket is valid only for that date and time.
Thomas departs at 9:00AM, 10:00AM, 11:00AM, 12:00NOON, 1:00PM, 2:00PM, and 3:00PM. Percy departs at 9:30AM, 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:30PM, 1:30PM, 2:30PM, and 3:30PM.
It is recommended that guests arrive at the event at least one hour before their scheduled departure. And, remember, the event is much more than just the ride with Thomas, so allow plenty of time to enjoy all the other activities and entertainment here.
Tickets are assigned by time. Guests must be together during boarding if they wish to sit together on the train.
There is one train ride per event ticket. A ride with Percy may be purchased for an additional $8.00.
We are located on Routes 16/302 in North Conway Village. Look for our historic 1874 Victorian Station off Schouler Park in the heart of the Village.
Is there parking available on site? There is limited parking on the Railroad property itself, but there should be good availability within the surrounding village. TRAFFIC TIP: parallel to Route 16/302, coming from the south, is the “North/South Road:” turn right at the light at Burger King, then turn left at the second light across from Paris Farmers Union. You are now on the North-South Road. Proceed straight through the round-about, and you will be in North Conway Village in about five minutes, with no more lights, and little traffic. All three of the parking lot options below are within easy walking distance of the railroad, with Depot Road being the furthest. As you enter the Village, be sure to look for individual parking spaces, which should be readily available, especially early in the day. Main Street through North Conway (Route 16/302) is to your immediate left coming down the North-South Road.
- Depot Street Parking: take the first right after Artist Falls Road, which is the first of the Village streets. You will see the “Thomas Parking” sign.
- Seavey Street Parking: proceed past Artist Falls, Depot, and Grove. Turn left and look for Decades Restaurant on the right. Our “Thomas Parking” sign will be visible. You may park here from 9:00AM until 4:00PM.
- River Road Parking: continue past Seavey and turn left onto Kearsarge Street. At the light, right onto Main Street, then left at the light immediately past the Eastern Slope Inn onto River Road. Our “Thomas Parking” sign will be on your left. Park anywhere in this lot. You have two options to access the Railroad: (1) for those with strollers or who have difficulty walking, the tunnel would be best. This will bring you to Main Street, and the Railroad is about 1/2 block to your right, or (2) there is a steep access road at the far end of the lot that can also be used as a pedestrian walkway and is the quickest route to the Railroad yard.
Day Out With Thomas events take place rain or shine.
